Pre-Registration Nursing Study from the Republic of Ireland

We can consider your pre-registration nursing qualifications from the Republic of Ireland for credit transfer under certain circumstances.

To be eligible for credit:

  • your study must have been completed in 1996 or later
  • and you must be able to prove that your study led to NMC registration by providing either a lapsed or current NMC registration number.

If you meet these criteria we can consider your previous study for an award of up to 120 credits at Level 1.

Evidence you will need to provide

You will need to provide evidence of your qualification in the form of your original Nursing Certificate as well as proof of your NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration. To study towards our nursing degrees (award codes Q47 and Q53), you must have live current NMC registration and you will need to provide your NMC Pin number with your application. Towards our other programmes, your NMC registration does not have to be current.
